Built by hand. Designed for tone. Lightweight for comfort. Built the way I’d want to play it—because you will.

About JLC Guitars

Since 2010, JLC Guitars has been dedicated to building high-quality, hand-crafted, U.S.-made instruments that are both custom and affordable. Our journey began humbly in a tiny 8’x10’ converted shed in Anaheim, California—a space once used by founder John Cronin’s grandpa to build model trains. That spirit of creativity, craftsmanship, and heritage still runs deep in everything we do.

At JLC Guitars, we’re passionate about the character of the materials we use. Whether it’s solid oak reclaimed from old church pews or hard rock maple once part of university dorm furniture, we believe wood with a story can help tell yours. If it meets our high standards and has a past worth honoring, we’re all in.

In 2016, JLC Guitars relocated from Anaheim to the unlikely frontier of Cheyenne, Wyoming, where we designed and developed additional models like the Sheridan, ½ Pint, and La Habra basses. Then, in 2020, we made our way south to the warmth of Longview, Texas, where we continue to evolve. Our Texas shop has also brought new creations to life, including the Shavano bass. Like several models that have come before them, these models are named for nearby throughways near our workshops, creating a roadmap, of sorts, marking our journey from California to Texas.

Through it all, our mission remains the same: to honor the materials God has given us, to work with integrity, and to build guitars that inspire creativity and joy. As grandpa used to say, “Only God can make a tree” all we can do is function as God’s image-bearers to create with integrity, generosity and hope.

We invite you to join us on this incredible ride and check out JLC Guitars.
